If you think Blackwater makes too much money, get a pair, and get hired on. After a year of making soooo much money you can donate some of your un-earned wealth to a military charity.

Why should it bother anybody? Blackwater is a private company and can pay its execs what they want to. The President of the United States is the most powerful job in the world and each one makes far less than many company CEOs. You’re comparing apples and oranges.

General Petraeus’ salary is defined by congressional mandate/ budget just as his initial commissioning as an military Officer.
The BlackWater wienies are part of a commercial (privately held, I believe) enterprise which touts themselves as a “PEACEKEEPER” company. Our government would be violating the clause about “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness” were it to delineate salaries at commercial enterprises under the FREE Market system.

You don’t have to be a top manager of Blackwater to make twice as much as a 4-star General, so attacking Blackwater because they’re conveniently near the top of the news right now doesn’t make much sense to me. Besides, Blackwater is just an umbrella company that sub-contracts to tons of other security contractors. Of course their names never get brought up because it’s not socially accepted to admit you’re a civilian contractor working in Iraq making twice what the military makes to do similar work. I appreciate what the military does in Iraq and I’m glad that we as civilians have the opportunity to support them in a capacity that allows us to go home when we’ve had enough. God Bless the USA!
