Why do I become friends with less conservative people than more conservativeve people?
I don’t mean from a political POV, but I make friends more easily with less traditional people than with more traditional people. Anyone have any ideas why this would be? Many people consider me to be fairly conservative, so it doesn’t make any sense to me.

Opposites attract. Maybe you find these people entertaining? They are thought provoking to you, because they offer different views.
We should switch places. I live in South Cali and the people here are mostly conservative.

You may be trying to break out of your conservative lifestyle or are trying to rebel. I did the same thing when I was young.
Now, I’m a VERY strong conservative – and most of my friends are still rebels and freaks – and I wouldn’t trade them in for ANYTHING.
Sometimes we like people and it doesn’t matter if they are more traditional and conservative. If someone is a good friend, a kind person, a decent human being then other things shouldn’t matter.
