Were you liberal before you were conservative and/or vice versa and which way were you raised?
I’ve heard several conservatives say they are former liberals. But no one comes to mind who was conservative and is now liberal. Anyone leaning towards liberalism now with Obama on the scene?
Like most people I was liberal when I was young. But I grew up.
I used to be a Republican and would guess that I would have been labeled a Conservative. After getting on y/a over a year ago and seeing the hate that is in the hearts and minds of Republicans and Conservatives, I am now a proud Liberal.
As a Christian , I am also far too socially compassionate to align myself with today’s Republicans and Conservatives.
There are many, many others who were raised as Republicans that now consider themselves Liberal for some of the very reasons I have states.
Yeah, I haven’t heard of that happening either. My dad was a liberal when he was growing up, but when he got out in the real world and saw all his tax money going to stupid c***, he changed his tune real quick. I was raised conservative, still am, always will be (I’m 24).
Interesting bit of trivia: Reagan was a Dem when he was young, but changed too.
I was liberal when I was young. Grew up. Became conservative. Early in this campaign I considered voting for Obama. But, too much has finally come to light about the real Obama. So my only choice is McCain.
No i have always been a conservative once i started getting a paycheck around the age of 15.
iIwas a liberal for many years.
I believed in raising the standards of living for all etc.
I worked hard when my kids were small.
I found that I was helping to support mums who livedon benefits who thought that they had a right to stay at home with their kids. Good for them as people like me were paying for it.
I saw too many people taking advantage of the system in the Uk and find myself increasingly conservative.
There are too many spongers living off the backs of the workers and are proud of it.
In the UK a pakistani immigrant can claim benefits for his wife in the UK and those back in pakistan. Now who pays for that?
Too much immigration and weak legislation that allows muslims to have the whip hand over their British neighbours has changed my view point.
