Is our Country doomed to repeat the same mistakes and elect another Conservative?
Are we going to make the same mistake again and elect another Conservative to office. After the last eight years you would think that America has become a bit wiser, but is the electorate is still a bit slow to learn? Some Conservatives of course will say that Bush was not a “real” Conservative, which is just absurd. Has America learned in lessons?
This-is a re-post as some cons trolling flagged it the first time.
Cons have difficulty with the truth. They are still in denial that Obama wiped the pavement with them. I think that Americans will think twice before they elect another Con. They have seen the aftermath of the last Con in office and all the damage that he did to this country. So I think it will be a very very long time before we see a Con in office. Perhaps not in our lifetime. I hear all the “full circle” theories as well but after this disaster of the last 8 years it may be 30-40 years for that circle to come around again!
Uh, Bush WASN’T a Conservative. Who shall we elect then? Look, I’m a Libertarian con. I didn’t like Bush and I don’t like Obama. What shall I say? I’m not sure what it is you’re referring to.
Dems control the House and Senate, what else do you want?
We were still stupid after 8 years of Reagan f—ing up our great nation and elected Bush Sr. So, I don’t know that 8 years of Bush jr is going to shake people so much they wont go there again.
heatmiser….we’re done with conservatives, unless they find one with something to offer.
what they got now, aint gonna cut it…
Yep this is classic propaganda getting a sick early start. It’s ok if we open our borders while being attacked, pretend that when American’s die at home and abroad, that it doesn’t matter (Bill Clinton), create an economic nightmare by deregulating loaning industry (Clinton) then pretend that because there are people alive somewhere who disagree with our policies, that they are the reason our policies fail.
The very fact that you are asking this question just makes my point that for liberals, as long as their is someone who disagrees with them alive somewhere, they are to blame for the liberal failures. Rather than owning their own, they give all the credit and blame to 1 single person that they have no respect for. It seems to me that if 1 person can rule over so many with so much ease, they’d learn to have some respect, but that only works in the wild.
Can I answer a question with a question?
Who were the idiots that allowed George W to take office after a rigged election?
Who were the idiots that elected him to a second term?
Do the American people really deserve any better than George W (since the public put him in office TWO times).
How quickly everyone forgot about the failed policies of Bush Sr.
How quickly everyone forgot about “reganomics”
Won’t be long and the conservative party will be back in the Whitehouse (with in the next decade) starting wars, running trillions in defect spending. Again, everybody will whine and re elect the prick.
Remember, ordinary people thinks it makes them high class to vote for the conservative party.
Besides, just visit your local church on any given Sunday and you will hear about how moralistic the Republican party is and how evil all Democrats are. I guess Jesus is a registered Republican (since the year 2000 anyway)
I don’t know, we have had some good ones in the past.
Dwight Eisenhower for example.
And George H.W. Bush was pretty good, actually. Like his son, he went to Iraq; though unlike his son, he had a legitimate reason. And unlike his son, he handled the war well.
We hit recession during his term because he had taxes too low to be able to pay for his Iraq War. That forced him to borrow the money to pay for it, which devalued the dollar.
But again, unlike his son, he realized what was happening and raised the taxes necessary to pay for his war after the fact. That action was one of the key reasons for a quick recovery from his recession. Bill Clinton’s actions continued that recovery, and their ideas together were the reason for such good years during the Clinton era.
So I wouldn’t mind a Conservative, as long as they are more like these two rather than like George W. Bush.
Conservatives are for smaller government. Bush created several brand new government agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security for example. If he was smart he would have streamlined the chain of command of the NSA, CIA, and FBI so information could move faster from the bottom to the top and top to the bottom. Instead he added a whole new level of bureaucracy to the nations intelligence services. He was the President when the Executive branch was able to get powers well beyond that of what the Founding Fathers ever thought of giving the chief Executive.
Does that sound like a conservative to you?
Not in out lifetime….just like FDR got in and Dems rules till Eisenhower. This generation is our smartest and they will not make the same errors. I am not surprised they reported this as they do not like to hear the truth!
no. another Republican will never be elected President again.. the GOP’s favorability rating is lower than ever and new membership is lower than ever.. that party is dead. YAY
I am all for having a fiscal conservative for a President.
I would really like my country not to bankrupt when my children grow up and have to pay taxes.
I do not think it is fair for them to have to pay for this generations mistake….
I am a parent, and I want better for them. I do not want them to have pay 60% in taxes because the government is now borrowing 50 cents for every dollar it spends.
I still remember that Bush stole the first election……and Obama will be re-elected in 2012. should he run.
Are you kidding? I’d like to see another conservative in office, as soon as possible. I pray for it, in fact. I also pray that this great country will survive the idiot who’s at the helm, now, so that can happen!
Conservatives – because someone has to be there to slap liberals back into line.
Yes because real conservatives are in the “right”. Bush and his cronies are neocons, which is different, and you know it,
