How can a conservative claim the Republican party represents them?
So I love how all the “conservatives” here talk about how The Democrats want to take your money and raise your taxes… Bush, supposedly a conservative, right? Has created the biggest government department since FDR’s “New Deal” programs and has started a war for no good reason that is going to cost us several trillion dollars. If that’s fiscal conservatism, I’m the King of England. The only thing that Republicans are conserving is ignorance on social issues (Being Anti-Gay, Anti-Science etc.)

Bush is not a conservative JFK was more of a conservative than he is. he acted more like a liberal Dem. in office very disappointing. AS for being anti-gay & anti science grow up & stop believeing every thing you read on your far left blogs. My husband is very conservative, who’s best friend is happyly gay & he is also the bigest science geek I know.
The Republican party is so much closer to my beliefs than the Democrat party it’s not even funny. I like the way Democrats point the finger at Republicans like they (the Dems) weren’t involved in spending. John Murtha ring a bell? Can you say PORK?

Bush is not a conservative. Under Bush, the NEA has record funding. NPR still exists, and the ponzy scheme called social security is still in place.

As far as anti-science, you’re without a clue. Stem cell research is legal you just can’t drain taxpayer’s pocketbooks for chasing fantasies. Private companies have no restrictions. Ouch, that hurts. Private companies doing what mommy government can’t?
I don’t care how much you point out to some people that the republican party are not conservatives and in reality are squashing their freedoms instead of protecting them and spending a fortune in the process. They’ll still say the republican party is still closer to their beliefs than democrats. Really? Skyrocketing costs over the past seven years for everything is closer to your beliefs of…? A war that most people in their heart of hearts knows is wrong and knows this administration lied us into. That’s a good belief to have. All one really has to do is open their eyes and look around. The republicans have taken our country on a very negative path, domestically and on foreign matters.
Agreed. The republican party is acting like democrats. What’s my alternative? to vote for a democrat? Not me. If the republicans lose, like they lost both houses, and probably will the white house, they deserve it. I just hope the country can survive it.
Bush Is is a Neoconservative. One of the big difference you will see is that Bush has given the Federal Government more power than more traditional conservatives would like. States rights are out the window. Not all Republicans are anti-gay or anti-science like not all Democrats are pro-choice or for gay rights. The political land scape is huge and there are more political ideologies than Liberal or Conservative.
Example: Ron Paul =Libertarian running for republican candidate for president,Bernie Sanders=Democratic Socialist member of the Democratic party and junior senator of Vermont.
