Conservative Christians, if you had a gay or atheist neighbor who was fired or needed help, would you help ?
I am curious if a Christian who is generally aligned with the more conservative persuasion would help a gay or atheist neighbor if, for instance, that neighbor had lost his or her job due to being gay because he or she was an atheist (which has happened)? Would they help that neighbor if they were suffering hardship in other ways due to their sexual or religious orientation?
They’d pray for them.
I’m an atheist i would help anyone if they needed it, i don’t care who they are.
Bear in mind, that converting them to Christianity does not count as helping.
Why wouldn’t I help them? Who do you think I am anyway?
Absolutely! Anything they would need, I would be there for them.
are you a gay atheist looking for a new job? if so you’re just like me accept that i’m not gay.
Sorry i didn’t have anything better. I want my 2 points.
God once said “” I require mercy,,, not sacrifice ” And He didn’t put restrictions on who the mercy should go to.
Nooooo they hate the bible so NOOOOOO
Can’t wait to see the responses to this!
I would definitely help the gay neighbor, but atheists always claim they can get by on their own. So why should I help the atheists when they claim relying on anything makes someone weak?
No. They are nasty and mean as they can to Gays. Hateful. I know. I am Gay.
Of course. If a person needs help they need help. What else needs to be considered?
Of course I would help them. Would you not help a neighbor that was was straight or Christian because of those reasons?
I have helped many people out who’s views, morals and ethics are not in line with mine.
I know it is cliche, but, hate the sin, love the sinner.
I would and I have.
i wouldn’t help my neighbors, i’m not in too great a financial position myself. They have their problems, maybe we just don’t have the whole “neighborhood family” mentality where i live but i mind my own buisiness.
Yes!
His sin of being a lover of a man in a sexual sense is bad for him! If I do nothing to help him in a time of his need, that’s bad for me!
God bless!
I am a Christian. I am also a recovering drug addict. I help many people all the time regardless of race, religion, creed, or sexual identity. It’s what I do to stay clean. Who did Jesus reach out to? The drunks, lepers, whores, murderers. He reached out to the believer as well as the non-believer. A true Christian helps where and if they can.
Of course I would. I feel more comfortable around conservative Christians when it comes to religion, but I have a lot of non-Christian, and gay friends that I absolutely love to death! It doesn’t mean that I agree with their decisions, but I like the people!
I can’t speak for all christians, but I know I would. If someone is down and out, I see the situation as a need for compassion and love, in giving and helping in anyway that I can. I don’t bother to do a background check on them, on what their Religion/or lack of is, or their sexual orientation. Even if I knew before hand, wouldn’t make a difference.
Of course. If you did not then you would not be a Christian.
Yes. How can we refuse to help somebody who needs us, unless we judge them to be unworthy. Help? I guess it depends on the type of help. Helping him find another guy to do or helping him towards Jesus?
My personall encounter goes more like: slould I give money to the wino even if he’s going to just buy more booze?= yes. It’s not up to me to judge him. He’s already got soul damage, is it up to me to kick him while he’s down?
Of course.
Helping people is the right thing to do, regardless of their (Lack of) Religion/Sexual Orientation.
Yes, of course I would. I love my gay friends and family. I love my atheist friends and family. However religious and sexual discrimination is against the law, so that would be unlikely. Sure it happens, but I would help them report the “crime”.
Yep.
