The Christian Science Monitor – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus distanced himself from potential GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump over the real estate tycoon’s focus on President Obama’s birthplace, when speaking at a Monitor-sponsored breakfast for reporters on Tuesday.
Republicans want to cut taxes for the richest people in the country, but don’t want to increase the deficit. However, cutting taxes for the rich would increase the already obscene deficit to $700 billion. Why are Republicans being so hypocritical? Is it because they have no realistic plans to decrease the deficit? This doesn’t seem like the solution, does it?

The Atlantic Wire – Texas Rep. Ron Paul announced he’s forming a exploratory committee, a major step toward running for the 2012 Republican nomination for president. The filing with the Federal Election Commission will allow him to raise and spend campaign cash before officially jumping in the race; Paul said it also will allow him to join the first presidential debate on May 5. Five other Republicans have taken this step. Paul says he’ll officially declare whether he’s running in the next couple weeks.
