I am pleased to see General Petraeus recognize the danger of one type of incitement, he unfortunately fails to see the whole picture and understand that our policies of torture, targeted assassination, invasion of Muslim countries and unintended infliction of civilian casualties in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan are also provocative. Pictures of victims of torture as well as innocent people killed by drones and stray bombs are every bit as bad as burning the Quran.
In some ways, what Jones is doing may be minor compared to the resentment toward us as a consequence of what our government has done to thousands of innocent victims.
Why do Petraeus and millions of other Americans fail to see this?
The liberals and Democrats in the Senate in 2007 blatantly accused General Petraeus about lying to them about the success of the surge in Iraq and criticized him to no end, including the infamous “General Betray-us” picture.
How is it that now he has been voted to lead the Afghanistan War by a 99-0 margin?
President Obama about Gen. Petraeus earlier today: “(his) unrivaled experience will ensure we do not miss a beat in our strategy to break the Taliban’s momentum and build Afghan capacity.”
General David Petraeus was appointed by George W. Bush to command the multinational force in the Iraq War , and was confirmed by Congress in that position on January 26, 2007.
This would be the same General Petraeus that Senate Democrats were calling a liar and “General Betrayus.”
Fear mongering is being spread by FOX News, more conservative voices speak out against Democracy in Egypt and Hosni Mubarak said in an interview with Christiane Rolling Stone has done a profile on General David Petraeus titled “King David’s War” portraying a man who does whatever it takes, to make things go his way. Nearly 10 years into this war how long can Petraeus manipulate the situation, and keep it going, before the veil is finally lifted? Robert Farley Blogger at Lawyers, Guns & Money weighs in.
Given how he has helped to turn around the situation in Iraq and has also showed the world’s troops better ways to fight Radical Islam while preserving the local cultures.

Does it bother anybody that the top managers of Blackwater in Iraq make twice as much as General Petraeus?
Could that be why Blackwater thinks it is above the law?
