Why do you like or dislike Barack Obama?
I am interested in what you think about Barack Obama. Do you appeal to his message of hope? Do you believe he will lead America in the right direction? Do you think he can face the racism and prejudices of white america?
He’s our only hope. I hate to ask, but could it get any worse?
Of the three frontrunners…I like him the best.
Oh boy. I hope you have a huge inbox.
I can’t decide what I don’t like about him because all he ever says is “Yes we can”.
Yes we can WHAT !??!?!??!?!? GIve us some examples.
he will lead this country in the right direction. the racist few will just have to deal with it.
hope change hope change hope change
sounds like he should have been a psychiatrist to me…
he is the least educated of all the nominees. Also the small fear of his father being a muslim
Hes Cool i mean better then nixon and about the same as hilary
He seems like someone I would want to meet. He’s not creepy like the other candidates
i cant say i like him or dislike him because ive never met him. but what i do know is, he’s trying to get the hardest job in the whole world and is by NO MEANS ready for it.
“Do you think he can face the racism and prejudices of white america?”
Not this s**t again.
i lay odds that he will get elected and appoint Clinton as vice
i am neutral on Obama, but not on Hillary. I have strong negative feelings about her. Obama will not win.
too much political poetry. This guy is a philospher not a president. I hate the way people are eating up his rhethoric and how the over usage of words like change hope and believe are playing into his favor. Too many people are being sucked into a movement that stands for something as trivial as “change” and not doing enough research on political history, policies, plans, etc..
Moral cowardice. He is unwilling to defend the US against its enemies.
1. Big, empty words with no real plans.
2. Socialist, communistic
3. Higher taxes
4. Disaster.
The WRONG DIRECTION.
He cannot “heal the racism” or the sick or the blind, sorry.
Today, On ABC news. There was a report about how Obamas recent speech was very similar to Governor Patrick’s in Massachusetts.
Come on. This guy can’t come up with his own words.
Obama sorry you are not truly a man.
He is strait forward and he is not doing everything possible to win or please people.
1) He belongs to a black racist church
2) Oprah endorsed him
3) He is an ex-heroine addict
4) He has no experience
5) He is too young
6) He is pro-amnesty
LIKE: NOTHING
DISLIKE: EVERYTHING
I think he is qualified to lead America in the right direction and I’m more aligned with his beliefs and issues in regards to politics and America in general. I would list the issues, but this question has been asked so many times, I just don’t have the energy to list them, but I’m sure my fellow Obama supporters will list them….
I am very weary of his father muslim extreme background. I also find it hard to trust a politician. He is well educated. I agree on his views on gun control, but he seems to allow lobbyists to control some of his views and I find that sad.
I don’t discriminate, i don’t like any terrorists.
I don’t trust him.
He has blatantly used tactics in his campaign that are similiar to creating a cult personality. THat is what he has done and that is rather scary.
His hope and change message is empty.
His actions continue to be opposite of his rhetoric.
I LOVE THE NEW FAD, THE CROTCH SALUTE
I crotch salute you right back OBAMA!

He seems like a nice guy, but far too inexperienced to be electing to the nation’s highest office.
I like his ideas. His healthcare plan assists the people with paying for the insurance THEY choose. It does not force us on a plan we don’t want or garnish our wages. He repects people’s right to choose. He does not try to make the government into our surrogate parent. He understands the nuances of diplomacy. And if you want to know how he will get things done, just watch how he gets a campaign organized. He’s not just talking, he’s showing us…
yeah
after what we have gone through for the pass decade, he
can’t do no wrong.
and it’s a proven fact study by doctors, that a baby loves the
strong low voice of their fathers
Aside from his show man ship. Looking at his resume
compared to the present President, where in the hell did
we go into some Village and steal someones “Village Idiot”
He cares about the poor women who don’t have health care. Single mothers, that need to work and want to work.
He sincerely wants to bring this nation to greatness.
and If I hear the Muslim crap one more time…..someone
needs to take them out and have a lobotomy.
His speeches sound like sermons and I don’t need to be “inspired” by my president. He is smart enough to know he is underqualified, but is still running. That makes me question both his loyalty and his judgment.
I like him…just dont think he’s the one for the job. Our country is in deep do-do already. We need someone with experience to get us out of it.
Barack has avoided the race trap, and Hillary is avoiding the sex traps. They are both intelligent and very good speakers. I’d be happy to have either leader take the country in a positive direction.
Bill Clinton balanced the budget and put the country into a positive economic trajectory. I’m sure that any honest president can do the same thing and save the country many billions by avoiding an indeterminant commitment of American servicemen in the Middle East.
The United States needs to catch up to the same standards for health care that is practiced successfully in Canada and France. The US spends more on health care per person, but is rated #37 in providing healh services. A citizen of France can expect to live 3 years longer than a citizen of the United States.
We need someone that will look out for the needs of an average American and not the profit needs of large drug and insurance companies.
Of course NOT. He is close knit with al Qaeda, ( the terrorist that hit our trade centers) he is supporting the unification war in Africa to help Islam, His first cousin, African billionaire , Odinga is full fledge radical muslium, and I could go on and on. If he gets in, there will be hell to pay. He has already said, he will not fight Islam but unite America with Islam. Remember 9-11? Case closed.
I like him as a person, he is a nice guy. But I just don’t think he is ready to be president especially during a time of war. In my opinion he needs to learn more and wait his turn. He is a dreamer and believes that because everyone likes him then things will be easy, they wont, the republicans wont sign bills by him just because he is a nice guy. I also feel that he needs to be more realistic, my family needs healthcare not hope(personally). He could lead America in the right way but who knows. I do think that he will face racial and prejudice but he is tough and he will get thru it.
I think that in 8 or 4 years he will be a great candidate.
I don’t like Obama because of his association with the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, and their relationship with Louis Farrakhan. The church may be “Christian” but their beliefs are very racist and their closeness to the racist, black muslim leader Farrakhan will prevent the Democrats from winning the general election. For those who are the so-called “youth voters” that are newly active in the party… the republicans don’t pull any punches when it comes to winning. The will play every card in the deck and they have no respect for “political correctness”. The only chance the republicans have to actually keep the white house is for a naive democratic party to think that Obama can survive the “swift boat” tactics that Karl Rove and the Republicans will heap on him.
I think that he is going to bring racism to an all time high – only this time it will be reversed. I wonder what his white mother thinks of his church that only caters to blacks. I hate racist of any color. More and more I find that in today’s society, the racist are more often black than white. I’ve never owned a slave, never abused or mistreated a black person – but I have been abused and mistreated by more than one black person in my life. I’m tired of paying for things that happened 200 years before I was born!
yes,yes,and yes
I don’t trust him, there’s still some things to come out about him. I live in reality so I don’t believe in his magic dust. And I don’t know where he would lead us but I don’t think it’s going to be to a good place.
He’s a fraud. Just search my Q&A the list is monolithic. The more I learn about him the less I like him.
I believe he would do his best but you are right I am concerned about the racism and his experience. I like the way he speaks and what he says but those are words written for him
I do not undertand what people see in him, and that makes me wary of him. His father was smooth with women and had children with two other women after leaving the one in Hawaii. I saw a picture of Obama Sr. and the guy is not that attractive. I don’t see the Obama charm. I just don’t see it. This overnight Obama phenomenon almost seems like some kind of black magic (no pun intended).
I dislike him because he’s an extreme liberal and will push this country towards socialism.
I don’t think he’ll win because a huge part of the democrat’s supporters are lower class blue collar union type workers that are still, unfortunately, pretty raciest. I grew up in a democrat based family, in a small all democrat town, and I’m ashamed of the racism.
he will be a good president..all hillary wanna do is fight and tears people down
It’s a RARE person who steps out of the Shadows of Time- & Inspires us all with their Words. Lincoln was one of those… as was Churchill & John Kennedy. From the First time I heard Barack Obama speak- at the 2004 Democratic Convention- I realised HERE is such a Person. But whether or not Obama gets the “Opportunity” to bring His Hopes & Ideals to Life, depends ENTIRELY upon whether WE as a People are READY to act upon his Message. Are WE Brave enough? Down-trodden enough? Inspired enough? And wise enough- to throw “caution to the Wind” & take a Chance upon the “Stranger” that stepped out of the Shadows of Our Dreams…- & said we can do Better… ? So it’s NOT a Question whether I think HE will do what He says… -But a Question of Whether WE can do what He thinks we can… And the FIRST Step in that “process”, is OUR getting up the Courage to Elect Him in the first place…
Obama has a lot of great ideas for the environment and the economy. And, he got a Kennedy endorsement. Say what you will about the Kennedys’ personal lives but at least they did a great job in office.
But on the other hand, he seems kind of shady. I mean, he’s already said one thing and done another on a few occasions already, so do his words match his agenda? And how could a man who cares about African-American progress support killing black babies?!? Also, I heard he was involved in a sex scandal, but then, that might be mere conjecture. But if it’s true, then he’ll tarnish the black image. What is it with Democrats being so moral and righteous about some issues but being completely shady about others? I’m SICK of having to compromise. Electing a black president with low character does NOT help black folks one bit. But then, he’s lightyears ahead of Jesse Jackson.
So, to answer your question, I just can’t decide.
Obama seems like a real person, who is, relative to average politicians, somewhat honest and seems like the kind of guy who would tell you what he thinks you should hear, instead of what you want to hear.
For the same reason, I like McCain. At least the guy seems to be exactly the person he portrays himself to be.
Yes, they’re on opposite sides of Iraq. However, while I agree with Obama that we should not be in Iraq at all (since basically, Bush lied us into that one), I agree with McCain in that we can’t just pull out without fixing our mess.
As for lack of experience… I don’t know what is wrong with all the people who think experience matters for the presidency.
Personality, charisma and character are more important for the presidency than esoteric statistics or experience implementing social plans etc. etc. What good does experience implementing stuff do for you when you’re president?
Presidents don’t implement anything. They choose between policies that real experts come up with, and then other people handle the details. What’s important for a president is the ability to convince people of his/her vision.
Honestly. Democrats love Bill. But did the guy have any experience before he became President? No.
Republicans love George W. Did he have any experience either? Hell no.
You know why Clinton’s health care plan failed in the 90′s? Because Hillary came up with the details herself and can’t accept the fact that she is not a real expert.
Presidents should not be micromanagers who are knowledgeable in every little thing. I loved Carter… but let’s face it, he sucked as a President. I hated Reagan… but he was a far more effective president.
Experience DOES NOT MATTER for the presidency. In fact, historically, the most experienced/capable politicians have a tendency towards either being mediocre, or plain bad.
It’s not a matter of liking or disliking him. I just don’t trust him, and don’t think he would be a good president because I don’t like his policies. Race has nothing to do with this, there are black politicians out there who I would gladly vote for in a heartbeat if given the chance.
He seems full of empty words. His supporters, that I have talked to, have given me nothing to go on and seem really gullible. :/
