Rev. Jesse Jackson apologized Wednesday for saying Barack Obama is “talking down to black people”?
Rev. Jesse Jackson apologized Wednesday fοr saying Barack Obama іѕ “talking down tο black people” during whаt Jackson thουght wаѕ a private conversation before a FOX News interview Sunday.
Jackson wаѕ speaking tο a fellow guest аt thе time аbουt Obama’s speeches іn black churches аnd hіѕ support fοr faith-based charities. Jackson added before going live, “I want tο сυt hіѕ nuts οff.”
Hіѕ microphone picked up thе remarks
Whаt dο уου rесkοn?
Rev. Jesse Jackson under the bus in 4, 3, 2, …..
It’s bizarre. Why would anyone say that nuts remark? lol
Jesse Jackson has always been a very hateful man, he was also caught terrible-mouthing Jews and had to backpedal on that one. He is a bully and a bigot and an egomaniac. Also I reckon there’s a small bit of sour grapes about Obama because Jackson also ran for president and failed miserably.
Jesse is worried he won’t be top knee-grow anymore if Obama is elected
I reckon Jesse Jackson is a bit jealous that a black man is stealing his show. And if Obama wins, Jesse Jackson is out of a job. How can you play the racial victimization game if a Black man is in the White House?
First of all it is hysterically amusing BUT it revealed Rev. Jesse Jackson’s right feelings.
It was a rare and revealing insight into how much our leaders feel OBLIGATED, due to either party affiliations or racial lines to stand and support a candidate rather than commit political suicide by stating what they really feel about a candidate. I reckon it is a real concern that SO many are standing next to candidates for the incorrect reasons and it is a clear representation of our doubts as a nation as a whole in whether we really trust our leaders. Too many of us have sat and simply listened to the rhetoric force fed us, and knowing in our hearts we trust none of them.
The presidential race for over 20 years has boiled down to WHO is the best of the bottom of the barrel, and many have lost any interest in elections.
I would have gladly wrote in Rev Jess Jackson’s name on the ballot if he had stood by his right feelings…and that says a lot because I have never been anyone to defend him in the past. I reckon a lot of Americans regardless of color, party line, or religious preference would have chosen the Rev for a candidate over Obama if he had simply stood by his right feelings. Honesty is obviously over-rated for our politicians and leaders and that needs to change.
It’s not at all surprising coming from him..
Fox News channel picked up him saying those comments.

^^hehe.
From another post of mine:
I agree that he is jealous. His apology is a load of bull, after being in politics for 40+ years his claim that he didn’t know that the mics were hot is something that he cannot slide on! He KNOWS to always assume that what he says will get out esp. while on the air!! He is not sorry for the comments he is sorry he got caught, bottom line. Barack is everything that Jesse claims to want to be but the difference is Barack has more relevance and does not stand on what he did for “the movement” 30 years ago. Jackson, Al Sharpton and anyone else clinging to these ancient ideals need to step back because their tactics have not advanced the condition of Blacks in particular any further than 1968 IMO.

It honestly surprised me to hear him say what he said and in that tone, with such passion! Goes to show you that he disagrees with Obama’s views, but is infuriated because he feels like Obama needs to do more of what Jackson wants him to do. Just because Obama is following his own path, making decisions for himself, it just pisses him off. Whoopi Goldberg on The View said it better than I could–some people say Obama’s not black enough, not white enough, and it goes back and forth if it “appears” that he brings more attention to a particular race. With him being bi-racial, it puts him in a very compromising position with white and black critics. It’s nearly impossible to keep everyone from every racial group satisfied, even as he brings promise to everyone.
I agree with BKM. It’s time for someone new to step up and get out of these ancient methods of change. It can have some effect, but we need to see better improvements and Jackson was being a hater.
Am I the only one that notices that Jackson always is associated with negativity. It’s like he pops out of the shadows when the black community is harmed or terrible mouthed.
Obama’s comments really make me reolize that he is willing to speak his mind even if it’s not the politically right answer. I thought his remarks on father’s day were courageous and right. Jesse and Michael Jackson need to go crawl back into their holes, because they are both weirdos.
jesse jackson been violated because of his private conversations being broadcasted. i smell a lawsuit in his favor
I really have no problem with what Jesse said, or even how he said it. It shows he’s passionate about what he believes in. He wasn’t whispering “Hey, let’s get a beer after this is over”. Obama came under a lot of well-deserved criticism after he chose that Father’s Day was a fantastic time to bash black people. As far as Jesse being bitter or jealous over Obama’s success, I say rightfully so. If you check out Wikipedia and see his 1988 presidential platform, it’s fantastic and the issues he raised have only seriously been touched now (Single-payer healthcare, rebuilding our nation’s infrastructure, reduction in military budget, free community college for all). Even after all these years, Jesse’s still got real fire in the belly, and that’s heartening to see.
I really reckon that most people don’t get it. For some this is a chance to spring to the defense of Mr. Obama, because anyone that says anything against your candidate must pay with at least a wicked tongue lashing.
The other section of people are those that like taking swipes and Jesse Jackson, not matter what he says or does. This section of people have made their minds up long ago and it does not matter to them the facts or circumstances.
Now I am sitting here thinking that it is amusing as all get out that Rev. Jackson said what he said, knowing that he would run to CNN and say he sorry. The whole thing is just amusing to me.
Please remember my friends on the left that it was People like Jesse Jackson that place life and limb at risk in the Civil Rights movement of the 1960′s that we all benefit from today. So attacking him may be at the least disrespectful. If you disagree I am sure you can do it in a respectful tone.
Please also remember that Mr. Obama is not promoting anything as of yet the Rev. Jackson has not already talked about before. Yes, the circumstances were different, but the concepts the same. The rainbow coalition was a very cross-cultural political and social movement as was P.U.S.H. So, like it or not Obama-maniacs, We are all walking in the somewhat bent footsteps of Rev. Jackson. Show some respect!
