SS is in need of reform, sorry. Bill Gates will receive SS. An old guy who decides to work – continues to pay SS. People get way more than what they paid in nowadays. Granted, raising age this minute is totally unfair. But, to raise it for people who are 45 now or so is perfectly fair. That suggestion isn’t ‘screwing’ anyone, it’s a way to keep SS afloat. People live longer – and yeah, that changes things. It’s also not a contribution – it’s a tax & they should say so.

Well. I would strongly suggest that we ELIMINATE ALL TAX BREAKS FOR THE RICH, and OUTLAW ALL LOBBYISTS, since both groups bribe scumbag politicians. There, I said it – and I didn’t evaporate from the internet!

30 years of ever-more corporate tax loopholes, tax reductions for the top 5% (who have been enjoying their greatest share of total economic growth in U.S. history), the continued dismantling of unions and manufacturing, and wholesale outsourcing of complete industries caused the Social Security and Medicare regression. And each brought to you by Republicans. Their prescription for their mess, what they’ve wanted all along: eliminate SS and Medicare. 45% of Americans are idiots.
I almost voted “dislike” because this pissed me off so severely. Thanks to Seder for actually saying something. This just makes me sick, and after that giant fucking tax cut, half of which went the the wealthiest 2%. There were also cuts for funding to help the poor with their electric bills. This country has simply lost its way.

We, the working class, pay for Social Security based on 100% of our income. Now, so the rich can continue to keep more of their money after paying only on a small percentage of their income.
If rich people were going to leave during the time of higher taxes, they would’ve.
We need to wean people off Social Security.. period.
Raising the retirement age to seventy will take $63,000 from each retiree.
Raise the age? Hell no!!!! Raise the contribution limits from 100k to 250k…problem solved.
Just great 99 er’s over 60 are hanging on for life and I do mean life hoping that they can survive until 2014 when national healthcare becomes law and then just a few more years until they turn 65. There are MANY people waiting for THEIR “entitlements” to kick in. Will they survive? Do you care Governor Christie?
