   @dancollins277 This is utter nonsense. You’re comparing a teacher’s average salary, someone who HAS to earn a Masters degree, with the average salary of every other citizen? For you numbers to work, you’d have to compare their salary with the average salary of professions that require a Master’s degree…the comparison would be MUCH different.

   Christies statement was 100% untrue. A wage freeze by all teachers in all districts would have prevented the salary base from increasing in those districts but would not have off-set by one penny the $1 billion cut in state aid to schools which is the reason there were massive layoffs.
